The AFL-CIO has approved UNITE HERE’s boycott of the Montgomery County Conference Center in Bethesda, Maryland, adding the facility to the federation’s national boycott list. The boycott will remain on the list for one year unless UNITE HERE requests its earlier removal.
The boycott applies specifically to the Montgomery County Conference Center only. The hotel connected to the conference center is not under boycott. Union members, affiliates, and allies are encouraged to respect the boycott and avoid booking or holding events at the conference center.
The Union Label and Service Trades Department will include the Montgomery County Conference Center on its boycott list and continue to keep union members informed about endorsed national boycotts.
